I began bookkeeping out of necessity in 2001, when my husband and I started an electrical contracting business. I have always been proficient with computers and a quick learner when it came to software programs, but was not familiar with any accounting software or what would meet our financial & business needs.
So off I went to our local office supply and purchased a software program that offered user-friendly features for the least amount of money.
Well, It wasn’t long before our business took off from billing $150k annually with 2 employees to billing $2 millon annually with 16 employees. Suddenly that software no longer met our financial and buisness needs, like quotes, purchase orders, job costing/tracking (just to name a few). So we decided it was time to consult with a CPA. He assigned a bookkeeper to the task of teaching me some bookkeeping essentials as well as all the use, features & benefits of QuickBooks. that was over 20 years ago and I’ve been hooked from that point on.
I acted as the CFO of our business for 14 years and then went on to work with other companies and non-profits the next 7 years. I am a certified Pro-Advisor for QuickBooks Online, Xero Certified Advisor and a certified Bookkeeper by the National Association of Certified Public Bookkeepers (NACPB .org) With 20+ years experience, I have the know-how & professional skills to help you understand and overcome the financial requirements of running a business.
